- 0.5 kg (600 ml) yellow peas
- 1-1.5 water for boiling
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt (Try, but usually 2 tsp is enough)
Soak the peas in water the day before. Pour out any remaining water the day after. Add the peas in a big pot and boil them together under a cover with the remaining ingredients over low heat about 1.5 hours. Stir every now and then. The soup should not be too watery. Add salt slowly and taste.
