What do Pope Francis and business have in common? Well, capitalism and religion have now officially gotten married. Some of the world’s biggest business leaders came with a huge announcement last week. They have started a partnership with Pope Francis, under a new alliance.
The Council for Inclusive Capitalism with the Vatican – How powerful is it?
This new alliance is called the Council for Inclusive Capitalism with the Vatican. 27 of its core members represent companies with more than $2.1 trillion in market capitalization and 200 million workers. It is a global nonprofit organization “established under the auspices of the Vatican with the moral guidance of Pope Francis”, as it states in their press release.
Among these members we find:
- Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan
- Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga
- Alfred Kelly CEO for Visa
- Lynn Forester de Rothschild, chief executive officer of E.L. Rothschild. She is listed as founder of this alliance, and is married to Sir Evelyn De Rothschild, one of world’s wealthiest family dynasties.
- Johnson & Johnson CEO Alex Gorsky
- Salesforce CEO and founder Marc Benioff
- Rajiv Shah, president, the Rockefeller Foundation
Pope Francis taking the Lead
“We are responding to the challenge by Pope Francis to build inclusive and sustainable economies and societies, and now we’re challenging others to join us.”, says the alliance on their website. It is part of their mission to “create stronger, fairer, more collaborative economies and societies, ultimately improving the lives of countless millions of people across the globe.”
They aim “to create a more inclusive, fair and sustainable economic landscape by taking pledges toward sustainable development goals focused on areas such as climate action, peace and justice, quality education and gender equality.”
All Religions need to Come Together to Save the World
Mastercard CEO Banga said in a video that “The fact that different religions need to come together on all matters is just the crying need of the times in our world. Faith cannot be used to pull us apart. Faith is meant to bring us together.”
According to Pope Francis, a new economic system is urgently needed:
“An economic system that is fair, trustworthy, and capable of addressing the most profound challenges facing humanity and our planet is urgently needed. You have taken up the challenge by seeking ways to make capitalism become a more inclusive instrument for integral human wellbeing.”
Is the mix of Capitalism and Religion of concern?
To any Bible student, this new alliance should be of great concern. Put simply: Bible prophecy reveals to us in Revelation 13 that all the world is going to wonder after the Papacy, and no one will be able to buy or sell, unless one accepts the rules set up by the governments of the world, in alliance with the Papacy.
”And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.” (Revelation 18:2-3)
The leaders of the earth will finally “have one mind, and shall give their power and strength” to the Papacy. (Revelation 17:13)
In his great love, God is calling all people to Himself, to keep His commandments, and have the faith of Jesus (See Revelation 14:12). Bible prophecy is fulfilling, Jesus is truly coming soon. Get prepared, and stay faithful to Him!
