The Fall

October 10, 2016
Join me on a journey back to the fall – that first fall. Imagine how hard it must have been for Adam and Eve:
“As they witnessed in drooping flower and falling leaf the first signs of decay, Adam and his companion mourned more deeply than men now mourn over their dead. The death of the frail, delicate flowers was indeed a cause of sorrow; but when the goodly trees cast off their leaves, the scene brought vividly to mind the stern fact that death is the portion of every living thing. {Patriarchs and Prophets p. 62.1}
Back to today. It’s getting darker and colder. The leaves are falling. Let them be a reminder how immense consequences that sin has. What would happen if we would mourn for our sins, like Adam did, as he saw the results of his big mistake?
Death is the portion of every living thing. But praise God, that when when Adam had sinned, the Lord showed Him mercy and pointed to the promised Savior. (See Genesis 3:15)
Maybe you have a heavy heart today because of your sin. Fear not, give it to Jesus, and He will give grace enough to not only forgive you, but strength to stand against any temptation, reshaping you into His image.
While the autumn/fall, is an object lesson about the fall, spring and summer is an object lesson of the new life that Christ wants to create in you, as well as the new earth.

Stay close to Christ. Summer is coming.
