About eight months ago, Empower Missions had its beginning. Since then, our vision has been to enlighten, equip and empower secular individuals as well as churches, in this generation. Through life changing lectures, practical training, and media, we strive to spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Topics include Life, Bible, Health, Evangelism.
Some of the highlights that we have assisted with during these first months is:
Preaching and Public Health Seminars
We started off by preaching in different churches and having public health meetings in Norway.
The public seminars that I shared was about alcohol and the Bible, digging deep into hebrew, greek and cultural meanings to find the answers. Another seminar was about the connection between physical, mental and spiritual health. According to science, all these three aspects of health is affecting one another.
IMPACT Norway’s mission trip
Later we assisted with teaching and photography at IMPACT Norway’s mission trip. IMPACT is an acronym for Inspiring Members to Proclaim the Advent of Christ Together. The trip is a good combination of training, inspiration, outreach and fellowship. For many it has been a highlight of the year since it started in 2009.
FANA Bible Study Seminar
FANA Norway is a group of Filipinos that are eager to study together and reach out to others.
I shared some presentations together with Joakim Hjortland during one of their meetings. The topics assigned to me was baptism and the state of the dead.
Teaching at AFCOE Europe, Germany
I had the privilege to spend a week at AFCOE Europe and teach Bible Prophecy focused on Daniel and Revelation. AFCOE Europe is a Bible School located in Germany. At the end of the week, Joel Mellin arrived and we shared our experiences from a prison in Israel earlier this year.
Reformation Tour, Germany
After teaching at AFCOE Europe we saw some of the main reformation sights in Germany such as Worms, Eisenach, and Wittenberg. There we also did some recordings about the reformation. While being there we learned more about the preparations of the reformation anniversary in 2017, which marks 500 years of reformation. The Catholic Church will commemorate together with many protestant churches, in that which started as a protest against the Catholic Church. Prophecies are getting fulfilled in front of our eyes! More about this in a short video we recently created.
Preaching and Teaching, Spain
Lately, I have spent some time in Spain preaching and teaching in different cities: Elche, Madrid, Sabiñanigo. It is always exciting to see the Holy Spirit at work. And this is really a reward as I work with this.
During this time, I also realized once again that the devil wants to destroy me. During a mountain hike, I got stuck in the Pyrenees, which could have ended very bad! As long as I live, I know God has a purpose for me, and I praise Him for sustaining my life until this very day.
Seeds of life
Earlier this year as I was praying about what to do, I saw a great need among secular people as well as church members. A need of empowerment, a need of training and encouragement – a need of Christ. So I decided to focus primarily on training churches, and enlighten secular individuals. For this reason Empower Missions was started.
John Chapman from Philadelphia, USA, lived between 1775 and 1845. He had an great love for apples and wanted everybody to enjoy this fruit. He collected apple seeds and planted them randomly everywhere he went. He prayed as he put those little seeds into the earth and built a small fence for protection, before he moved on to the next place. Johnny Appleseed, that he later was called, was a deeply religious man who loved people. Many nights he would share his stories of the wild woods or read to them from the Bible. As a result of practicing his favorite hobby for about 50 years, he provided mountains of apples to feed thousands of people for several generations! Can you imagine that?
The small seeds Johny planted here and there, both physical and spiritual, together made a difference – Bigger than he could imagine!
Christ said: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
In like manner, Empower Missions want to make a difference by planting small seeds everywhere we go, meeting people’s physical, mental and spiritual needs. It was started by faith, and it is still run by faith. We are happy to consider assisting you with our services.
If you appreciate the work we do, or feel impressed to support us, you may give a one time donation, or a regular monthly gift. This will help us greatly to cover bills, equipment, as well as travel and living expenses. You can make a difference for eternity!
We look forward to this new year, and are excited as we continue to minister to others. Thank you very much for your prayers – please keep praying! We wish you a happy and blessed new year, with two promises from the Bible:
“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)
“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)
Best wishes,
Christian
