Pope Francis barely got started with his speech to the US congress yesterday, before he got standing ovations by seemingly everyone present in the hall with US leaders. This is the first time ever that a pope addresses the US congress.

New York times calls it “a milestone in the journey of the Roman Catholic Church”.
CNN calls it a reshaping of Catholic politics.
Huffington Post says Pope Francis Wants To Be President Of The World.

Indeed it is a milestone. Pope Francis spoke to the hearts of both republicans and democrats.  In the US Congress there are quite many Catholics: Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr, House Speaker John A. Boehner, secretary of State John Kerry, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., and Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic leader. Nearly one in three members of the Congress that Francis addressed are Catholics.

Having already been welcomed by the White House, and being present at an audience with President Barack Obama, Pope Francis spoke not only about politics, but on world wide unity.

During the speech, the Pope warned for religious extremism. Citing American profiles such as Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, he said:
– We must move forward together, as one, in a renewed spirit of fraternity and solidarity, cooperating generously for the common good.

He also referred to his encyclical he delivered earlier this year on the climate, where Sunday keeping was lifted up as one of the solutions.
– We need a conversation which includes everyone, since the environmental challenge we are undergoing, and its human roots, concern and affect us all, Pope Francis continued.

“Lawmakers snapped photographs with smartphones and interrupted the speech about 30 times with applause…Not long ago, the prospect of the head of the Catholic Church addressing Congress would have been unthinkable. Catholics in politics were a source of suspicion and a subject of slander for generations. Today, the pendulum has swung. ”
New York Times

The speech ended with standing ovations from the US leaders.

Pope Francis is taking the world by storm. As CNN put it on Television: “Pope Francis emerging as global political leader.”
“and all the world wondered after the beast.” (Revelation 13:3)

Who would believe 20 years ago that we would see this shift of change in American politics and the Papacy?
Who would believe that the Pope would address US Congress and United Nations, calling for unity?

Revelation 13 has predicted this to take place– the Papacy grabbing the hand of America as foundation for a new world order and the last conflict of this world.

We are living in interesting times. Study the Bible, especially the prophecies, and get ready.

“We are to give to the people the warnings contained in Revelation. But many workers are engaged in a line of work that is disqualifying them to preach the word and do the very work God has appointed them to do. The truth in regard to the Sabbath of the Lord is to be proclaimed. The seventh-day is to be shown to be the seal of the living God. People are to be shown what they may expect from the papal power. The time has come when the Protestant churches are reaching out to grasp the hand of the power that has made void the law of God… This is the message Satan would have silenced…Shall this message be considered an inferior matter? ”

– Ellen G. White, 4MR 426.1
